Bright and Morning Start Tree Topper Giveaway

Isn’t this beautiful? I loved it the first time I saw it. And hopefully you will too because my friends at Ever Thine Home are giving one away!

I LOVE beautifying my home with products that have a meaning and support a ministry or charity that I love. For year, I had looked for Adornaments after I heard about them on Focus on the Family and Family Life Today. I never could find them.

Until October.

I attended the Allume Blogger’s Conference and was so excited to hear from Barbara and Laura Rainey. I have always loved Barbara’s books, especially the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Character ones.

I had way too much fun shopping at their booth. I bought many beautiful things to decorate our home and give as gifts. I’m not able to use them in our home right now because we had damage from massive rains that led to unexpected remodeling. We are thankful to be at Mom’s and use these items in her home. Because, you know, I bought her a set of everything too for an early Christmas gift. 🙂 And it is our first Christmas without Dad. It is a hard, hard time, but we are thankful to be together and for all the memories.

To be honest, I really just want to skip Christmas this year. The joyful heart and celebration seems wrong when Dad isn’t here with us. When his chair sits empty. And I wonder how I’ll be able to make it through the day, the season. Can we just move on to January 1st and skip my favorite holiday?

But, then I imagine what an amazing time it must be celebrating with the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace… the reason we even celebrate Christmas at all. Wow. I can only imagine!

And, life must go on. And I will survive. He would want us to celebrate. And I am blessed with a precious family who are struggling in our own way. We have each other. We need each other. We continue traditions and create new ones. Because it is a different kind of Christmas. And I have friends who encourage me that making it through the firsts are so hard, but you can breathe and know you will make it.

Some of our new traditions that we are incorporating can be found at Ever Thine Home. They bring such a deep meaning to to true reason of Christmas and help steady my wounded heart. These beautiful products help me focus deeply on what matters.

Want to see some of the beauty and meaning? {And keep reading for a giveaway!}

We love to watch Christmas movies every year…we own the ones we really like and watch a different one every night the week of Christmas.

On another note, I’ve thought of you many times since your Dad passed away! I lost my Dad right before Christmas last year (a year ago today was his funeral). Technically, this is our second Christmas without him, but it really feels like the first since we were all still in a daze last Christmas. I know, all those firsts are so hard! Praying for you and your family!

  • Katrina says:

We also have a few favorite Christmas movies (Muppet Christmas Carol is at the top of the list). Since we’ve been back north, we cut our own tree each year, and we usually try to use some sort of Advent plan for reading.

  • Linda says:

We love to visit a recreation of the entire town of Bethlehem.

Our favorite traditions are cutting down our Christmas tree, going to the Live Nativities, the Nights of Bethlehem, the caroling at the senior centers, the nightly Advent time, the littles finding Mary & Joseph traveling through our home every day with squeals,
    Thank you for this giveaway.

My favorite tradition is having Christmas breakfast at my mom’s house and then open gifts with all the kid and grandkids. Before we open gifts though, my dad reads the Christmas story and we sing a couple Christmas carols.

  • Fibia says:

Favorite Christmas traditions – cooking, baking, spending time with my in-laws, and talking about Jesus’ coming to earth and dying on the cross for us. This is the reason. His death and resurrection. For us.
