Gardening season is here! It is really hard to believe after the crazy winter that we have had and is still going on in some places.
It is time (past time) to prepare the soil and get ready for the season. We use raised beds and I love them! The weeds seem to be less of an issue and it is easier to manage in our small space. Even though we are farmers, there isn’t much land for gardening…it all goes for the cows.
Gardening takes planning but the results are wonderful and helps keep your family healthier and helps to save you money. It is so nice to go outside to pick fresh greens for salads, smoothies, tomatoes for sandwiches, vegetables for soups and more.
And sometimes it is nice to have an easier way to grow vegetables and herbs. Things can be even easier this year with Gro-ables!
Gro-ables is a brand new product from Miracle-Gro – a pre-packaged seed pod that makes it incredibly easy to grow your own herbs and veggies from seed. It’s designed for the younger consumer, or people who are new to gardening but have always wanted to try growing their own food. The seed pods are designed to simplify the growing process so it’s not overwhelming or confusing. Focus should be on edible gardening – easily growing your own herbs or veggies in your own home/apartment, and turning those homegrown ingredients into homemade meals.
I have seen them priced $1.25 – $1.78, depending on where you shop. There are 17 varieties to choose from.
Miracle-Gro Gro-ables takes the guess work out and also makes it great for kids to start gardening. Just plant, water and watch it grow! It is guaranteed to grow so even a person with a black thumb will have success. They contain the seed, plant food and growing material.
I was sent Tomato, Basil and Spinach to try. I will let you know the results soon! My son (who LOVES to garden) got all excited about gardening and started cleaning out the boxes and even made me a small box to start these indoors since we will still have frost for a while.
I am looking forward to using the tomatoes in our simple Summer Salad!
