What's For Dinner, Mom?

What’s for dinner, mom? {or as we say down south…what’s for supper? ~ and really hope it includes a meat ~preferrably fried, vegetables, bread, dessert, and sweet tea}  This is a question that I hear lots…and I am sure you do too.  Every. Single. Day.  And too many days, the busyness of life has me wondering…what are we going to eat?  And I feel like kicking myself that I did not plan ahead.

Can you relate to this…?

Living a busy life on a dairy farm means that I need to be organized, so it is not late when we all make it to the house and are not sure what we are going to eat. Been there…too many times.  There are days when I do not plan ahead and we eat sandwiches or order out from the local restaurant. That is okay sometimes, but doesn’t need to be the norm.

It is often forgotten that cooking for our family is much more than just meeting their physical needs of eating nourishing food. It is an opportunity to serve our family, bless them, connect with them by cooking with your children, having them help with the process and preparing the table, and then bonding over the meal and enjoying talking with one another.

Life has become so busy that many just rush through this time that used to be so important for families…and still is.

I was relieved to be sent an e-book version of  What’s For Dinner, Mom? to review with the very title of the question moms all over frequently hear. I had high hopes that I might get the question answered. I did.

Thankfully, this is much more than just a cookbook. I have TONS of those around and still wonder at times what to cook.  This 196 spiral bound book (not available as an e-book)  is packed full of tips, ideas, bulk cooking helps, freezer cooking helps,  tools you should have to make the job easier, and great, simple recipes your family will love.  You will also learn how to maximize your time while cooking~ cook more than just one meal at a time, even if you don’t want to try once a month cooking.  Also sprinkled throughout are words of wisdom and encouragement.
This book is written by Lorrie Flem ~ a mother of 8 who knows many shortcuts and has had plenty of taste testers over the years.  This book was written from experience, trial and error and with much love for moms everywhere. Lorrie has written many wonderful products that will encourage you in your home and family. The Eternal Encouragement Magazine offers great encouragement for your daily walk.

I believe that this book will be one that you will want in your kitchen to help you establish new mealtime routines and take back the special family meal time that has been lost in so many homes.
